Range Rover Sport 2007/ 2008             Update 2008

Constant 4x4 287 KW @ 5750 enough torque to tow a small island 550nm @3500 and a 4.2 lt supercharged V8

mixed with the queens corgis  with a touch of the British class system you have  the Range Rover Sport.

A lazy $140,000 odd + extras and you will discover why this marquee has been so successful for over thirty years now.

Towing, wow with the torque available in a 2.5 tonne body towing will be a breeze. Off road well the range rover AWD technology allows even the dumbest of weekend warriors the ride of their life off road. Performance and its just a experience , 0-100 kms in just 7.2 seconds.Range rover sport V8

Put all this with the wizardry of the land rover engineers like   Air suspension, active anti roll bar system which by the way is computer controlled and the AWD selector( first found on discover 3) that you can dial in for any terrain from dry roads to sand and rock. This system then sets optimum ride height,  traction, sharpness of throttle and diff lock settings.

Don't forget the expected items like satellite navigation , superior sound system, luxury leather trim, alloys  and the list goes on.

HOWEVER if you want metallic paint add $1500,  Phone installation $2500,  Sunroof $3000 and tow bar pack $500.

If you do you arithmetic these add ons are not bad value,  try the same with Mercedes Benz and you will find Range rover pricing is pretty good. These days a  decent tow bar for a Holden will set you back $400  and sunroof installation seems to have been this price now for the last 15 years.

but.........

Did I mention fuel consumption..............Well at www.just4x4sales.com.au we like to include all

No..

Well rating is 16.9 lt/100kms combined cycle   15.9lt/100km is claimed by the manufacturer Drive it like a very mild idiot and expect mid 20lt/100kms all day long. Still I will stick with the idea of this class machine  that  fuel consumption is not the the top of priorities if you want one.

Oh and another thing if previous models are anything to go by consider depreciation (See buying a new 4x4) and get rid of it before it becomes a expensive old used vehicle. If this doesn't do the trick maybe you really need a Hummer H3.

Range rover 2008

Some minor updates now on the Land rover sports. This is found in the trim and seating.

The 2008 passenger seat now is eight ways to match that of the drivers seat. The steering column is now electronic and is now part of the drivers memory device. From here on in the 2008 model  it will be standard on the supercharged model and optional on the TDV6,  TDV8 & 4.4L V8..

Also standard on the supercharged is the continental Bluetooth phone system where numbers can be recalled via the steering wheel.

Three extra colours are to be introduced in 2008 and the powers that be advise us that the price looks likely to remain unchanged for the TDV6 and supercharged. expect a rise of $1000 AUD$ for the TDV8 and 4.4L V8.
