The Nissan Rogue.2008 or  X-trail 2008  video

This is the US name for this SUV all wheel drive.

The Nissan Qashqai ( see meaning below)  in Europe, and other names, the X trail in Australia.

Like Nissan Dualis in Japan . You will not have to be a marketing guru to realize that this model is destined to hit all other markets including Australia in one of these forms. (maybe X-trail)

Nissan call it aggressive, performance based and a drivers vehicle. Main aim is the younger SUV all wheel drive buyer.

Why  include a all wheel drive vehicle in Just4x4sales I get asked ? , my reply is this is a world vehicle and its application will be universal. from the outback of Australia to the city streets of New York.

Engine size  seems also to be universal and may be the glitch for the Australian market like the Ford Escape XLS

Nissan Rogue/ x Trail delivers 125 Kw

This  2.5 lt 4 cyl could let it down to the conservative power buyers. Lets not underestimate thought,  it delivers 125Kw @ 6000rpm Torque 226 Nm @ 4400 rpm  This engine is designed to give maximum acceleration in the Low to mid RPM range.

Electronics will be state of the art to deliver maximum smoothness and performance.

Sounds just like the thing for around town. Safety wise expect the best, ABS, four wheel discs full arrangement of airbags and all to go with it , this vehicle will be up with the best of them upon release.

In its class wheelbase on the rogue will be the longest you will find, ride will be sports like so expect it to be rigid.

Wheel size 16 and 17 inch.

Length 4630 mm, width 1785mm  and height 1685mm

Towing 2000 kg

Ground Clearance 200mm

Then there is the Nissan Xenon headlights, optional power sliding roof and roof rails system similar to ford escape also.

I like the leather option with the heated seats, blue tooth, trip computer and cruise.

Rear seats are 60/40 split , the big plus is the rear space . Ideal for the traveler or the mums and dads needing the extra for all that's needed with the offspring.

Nissan X trail Summary

In summary here is a vehicle hitting the market at about the same time of the Toyota Kluger and Ford Escape 2008

all will be all wheel drive  and two wheel drive option. Green will be the marketing flavor for all see new escape adds

But here if this Nissan can perform this might be a sign of the family vehicle of the near future. Throw all the other similar vehicles into the mix and you will have confusion.

As a two wheel drive vehicle (option) it seems a little heavy  to drive as a 4x4 it takes it nicely on the chin and does what I would expect remember the features like hill decent and assist and vehicle dynamic control.  the X trail Pricing is reasonable in Australia $35990 +or

The Nissan X trail since 2002 has evolved nicely into a well manufactured and thought-out vehicle suitable to its class. The Honda CRV buyer may avoid this but the feeling will be mutual.

My comment is : It has my attention . Mum and the littlies will be needing a new vehicle soon.

Meaning of the word Quashqai

Qashqai,   also spelled Ghashghai, Qashqay and Qashqa'i, Persian قشقائی) are a people in Iran speaking a Qashqai language. Qashqais mainly live in the provinces of Fars, Khuzestan and southern Isfahan, but especially around the city of Shiraz in Fars.

The Qashqai were originally nomadic pastoralists and some remain so today. The traditional nomadic Qashqai travelled with their flocks each year from the summer highland pastures north of Shiraz roughly 480 km or 300 mi south to the winter pastures on lower (and warmer) lands near the Persian Gulf, to the southwest of Shiraz. The majority, however, have now settled, or are partially settled.
