BMW Diesel Ready for the Australian market?

Sales of SUV's are moving into a new faze. Audi new Q3 is a example and definitely the BMW X1 2010 is right in amongst the action.

Firstly Diesel is the buzz, for the last 5 years at Le Mans 24hr the race has been dominated by diesel engines,  now that's something 15 years ago they would have laughed at. But true. Here is a diesel engine luxury vehicle with some off road capability that should dominate sales in its class. Currently the BMW X1 uses the 2 litre diesel used in the X3 but soon the twin turbo variable vane technology 4 cylinder  will hit the street. This could be special.

Inner city and leafy suburbs

The buyer of this vehicle is not necessarily the traditional 4x4 driver but the new breed of driver whom enjoy the feel of a possible go anywhere vehicle to actually going anywhere? Its urban based lets be honest and the manufacturers know this. It will slip into the range under the X3 and will captivate the more cashed up Rav 4 buyers. Luxury will be intention with this little gem full of all expected goodies as the X3 is now.

Priced just under the $50,000 I would consider this a must have in those inner city high rises and the more leafy suburbs. Its the badge,  its the price, its the diesel.
