Yes I looked at a purchase of one of these for the wife and the kids. Its seemed to have a modern style, a great range in 5 and 7 seats and not a bad 2.4- US built 4 cyl engine in the base model. (Check out the 10 models below)

Holden Captiva 5

The one we looked at was in black. 5 seat base. I will give it 9 out of 10 for style and features although compared to the ZD Ford escape seemed basic for 2011.

Just basic air and the standard type seating. Interior these mid priced SUV's seem so similar. I will let the rest of this page talk about performance and really there is no issue with that but interior wise it seemed to lack space. Seats seemed low and god help anyone over 90 kg. Seat 4 ok 5 well midgets maybe. The rear was fine and does have a full size spare.
The 5 offers manual with the upsell being $2000 for Auto. All Captiva models offer a good selection of safety features like, Electronic Stability, anti skid brakes, six airbags including side curtain.

This price range is competitive very competitive. Don't get sucked in on the advertised base model and then get the up sell into the larger.

In essence as a base model ok but get over $30000 and others can look far more appealing even the Kia sportage (dare I say it) seems to have a better finish and I believe a exception vehicle on road. Hyundai, Ford Suzuki even Renault look the goods in the slightly larger price bracket.

Do what I did have a look there is some good deals being done but weigh up those options these plenty to choose and very little difference between them all.
Note the 2011 engine 2.4 is a US made engine and the 2.2 diesel is Korean . The only thing local in engines is the 2011 3.0 litre made in Melbourne.

Holden Captiva 7

Now this 7 seater offer a tight but suitable fit for the small family. The 7 has a different body to the 5 note rectangular headlights and a flatter nose. The V6 engine is local made with direct injection this now replaces the 3.2

Pricing is upwards of $43000 and only available in Automatic
